np: too many songs to mention...

so i just stopped in here after a delicious romp at the hmv where they're having a 4 for £20 sale on cds. hoorah. i came away with eight. yikes. del amitri's waking hours and a pixies b-side collection were the big winners of the day. didn't pay over £6.99 for any of it, either. including (as a mention for sara) the josh rouse + kurt wagner (of lambchop) collaboration EP chester.

we had a progressive dinner last night, and for those of you unfamiliar with the quaker concept, a progressive dinner is what it sounds like: namely, you progress from flat to flat eating different parts of the meal as you go. my flat was in charge of the appetizers and we served tachini (a hummus like dip, only instead of chick peas its base is of sesame seeds) and various vegetables and pita bread. the other flats had salad, pasta, etc. it was good on the whole. we had a nice tube ride back from hampstead. late sunday night on the tube is nice and quiet for the most part. we had seats the whole way home. amazing really.

we go in for interviews on our internships tomorrow. i got the information today on mine. i'm going to be working as a teacher's assistant for the head of the english department at st. thomas more's comprehensive school for boys age 11-18. apparently the teacher is really excited to work with an american education student, so hopefully i'll like her as much as she seems to already like me. here's to hoping.

so, i'm doing alright in missing certain person. i've talked to her a couple of times since leaving and..each time it's hard to say goodbye. it's tough not to hear her voice everyday, let alone not to feel her, touch her, have her to spend time with. she is, without a doubt, my best friend. and to go from spending everyday for three and a half months with her to not seeing her at all until november is tough. today is our ten month anniversary. november marks a year. and that will be really hard. but..we'll see, eh? i've never been happier to be with one person in my entire life. this much i know is true.

so that's all for now. i'm about done ranting again. not as much to talk about but i'm sure it will pile up soon. happy trails.
