Tuesday, October 16, 2001 np: i'm listening - music in the bedroom, laughter in the hall, children in the park so i saw superchunk tonight at the garage over at highbury and islington. a very smashing show. although terribly disappointing in the "i wish they woulda played this.." category. no "driveway to driveway," no "precision auto" or "water wings" or "without blinking." not even "florida's on fire" from the new record. all the same. got laura ballance's autograph on my copy of here's to shutting up. and a nifty t-shirt. it's a pretty blue. the ocean's as blue/as blue as your eyes/i'm gonna take it with me when i go... my parents were here for a brief visit and we did some fun things and they brought me a lot of stuff. and i neglected to bring up to them that i didn't want to live at home next summer. rather, i had hoped to move out and into an apartment with someone for the summer time. i could swing the rent fairly easily and still save up money for school. especially since i wasn't having to save close to four-thousand dollars for another semester here in londres. any takers in the concord area? i asked kate but she hasn't responded yet. so we'll see. it's true..the keyboard is heavy and my hands are cranes.. i bought some new albums. a boxset of three public enemy records (i sold the copy of it takes a nation of millions to hold us back to michael cos he doesn't own one, but kept yo, bum rush the show! and fear of a black planet.), tim buckley's happy sad, the new fugazi album, the argument and the del amitri b-sides collection, lousy with love. i haven't had a chance to listen to any of them yet really, so we'll see how they turn out. i love jeff buckley so much, i thought i'd give his dad a spin. and if you know me at all, the other records make perfect sense. for those who don't know me: (insert joke about how much you think del amitri sucks HERE). take me somewhere..where there's no such thing as taste.. everything is so beautiful when you have the time to pause. cos otherwise you're moving so fast. so clichéd and bleh that sounds. but i mean..so i got out of work today..and took my self on a nice walk of oxford street. bought cds. perused a book store. bought a phone card. smiled. god that sounds stupid. --------------------------------------- you were esconsced in the titles of the shelf the various dust coats jackets of black und blue green and red my eyes tracing the spine the curvature of your back to back. your shoulders hunched ever so slight- ly. and i could sense so much seeping into you from point a to point b my five point ideas and their massive misgivings. i deal ism. my would-be middle name. my would-be revolving world. and you. and they fit so perfect in these hands these eyes. this conception is real. even if you leave the row as i put it together. and you're gone. and so am i. ------------------------ i am empty handed. not souled or minded or hearted. just empty handed. seemingly alone. and so, so, full. of you. ----------------- posted by J.
