Sunday, May 05, 2002 np: crushing weight. i've been using this thing as a commentary and social thing for awhile. never really delving into what it is i've been doing or what things are going on in my life. i've hinted at things from time to time. the best i ever did at describing what was going on was while i was in london. i re-read most of my journal the other night and noticed that those were some of the best entries. at least, for me. this is the end of the semester. i have this list of six things sitting in front of me that have to be accomplished. ideally, five of them would be done by tomorrow night. i can't decide a list of priority. one of them has to be done by tomorrow. one could probably wait until tuesday. two if they aren't done tomorrow, won't be done. one is due on wednesday. one was actually due last wednesday but has gotten the royal shaft until this point. i put this on myself, and i'm really freaking out about how my grades are going to come out. i'm more worried about getting credit for two of the courses, which if i don't would seriously alter the landscape of my senior year. i'm frightened and i'm freaking out and just sitting here instead of actually working on it. we had the first quasi-meeting of next year's staff at WQFS. in case i've never mentioned it (or for those of you reading who don't know me), QFS is the station my college runs. i've been a dj for three years and next year i've been named as head music director. i was incredibly thrilled. i've had so many ideas going around in my head about the station and with a budget problem in the mix, a lot of ideas about how to smooth them out. i'm not the general manager (that's dan) but i've been sort of organising things a bit lately. i hope dan doesn't think i'm trying to step out of my position and run things. that's the last thing i want, since my major focus is on getting the best music possible into rotation, recording the charts, and going to CMJ festival next fall. *super big grin* that's been one of my desires for a long time. once i go, only sxsw (south by southwest) will remain as a major festival i've desired to go to, but haven't. aside from reading in england. heh. speaking of the charts, paul westerberg's new album, stereo/mono, charted as our number seven last week. he also hit number eighty-one on billboard. hoorah for great music! back to work. or rather, to the start of work. it's going to be a long night. take care. please. posted by J.
