np: bombarding you today..
sorry for all the posts, but i keep running across important things. big ups to MWO for this story. and as always to tom tomorrow for almost always being the one to link me there. if you haven't read tom's blog yet, go! every day is packed with useful stuff. yes, he's a bit biased, but damnit, so am i.
back to the story...
so, in doing this i learned some more html coding which could come in handy in the future. i'm really enjoying learning all this stuff. i'm impressed with myself. unfortunately, what i was trying to learn it for didn't help, but all the same.
Point of order: the Impact Aid program is a support program for school systems that can't tax local property to get money for funding. i.e. military base schools where the property is federal. continue.
On February 13, George W. Bush told the troops at the Mayport Naval Air Station:
"Our people in uniform and families deserve our gratitude and deserve our support."
But ten days earlier, Bush sent a budget to Capitol Hill that called for deep cuts in financing for schools of children of those who live and work on military bases throughout the nation.
At total of $173 million is slated for slashing from the Impact Aid program -- 14% of its total funding.
Gratitude? Support?
