np: quiet.

i neglected to turn on my alarm last night, despite the fact that i went through the trouble of setting the time. thus, i missed out on a few of my friends' history seminar presentations. there was a guy doing one on leadbelly i really wanted to see. :| ah, well.

sara left me such a nice note in the guestbook. the point in me leaving my playlists up here each week is tri-fold. a) it gives me a way to look back at what i've been playing recently so as to not make my show too repetitive. b) one person who reads this told me they actually look at it as a guide to checking out new stuff, which is awesome. that's why we're at the radio station, so it's really great that that carries over to this as well. and c) to make people jealous and wish they could hear the show. heh. if it wasn't for CARP legislation, we would've been webcasting by now. but alas. that is out of our reach.

i'm playing a small acoustic show on saturday night at 8:30 or 9pm, somewhere in there, at the Underground here at guilford. along with adam thorn, eban dennis and john moore. should be an excellent, fun time. the other people are the much lighter side. i'm the dour troubadour you have to get through to see others. why else would i sit there covering "2 Kool 2 B 4-gotten" and "Nothing Gives Me Pleasure?" but i have some new songs i've written recently that i really like. and of course, tons of old stuff. so we'll see.

i haven't performed since...last summer. i really miss it. i don't know why i never did more performing here at guilford. i guess, i played a few times and people just didn't seem that interested. but that's not the focus, is it? sometimes i let that stand in my way. my goal (tentative, cos i believe i've made this goal the last several summers) is to record a new album this summer. i think i'm finally ready to spend time doing it. i hope so at least. i've got more than enough songs. the fun part is going to be in constructing these songs. those are the other ideas i have floating around.

ah but first there's that pesky problem of graduating..
