np: yo la tengo - summer sun
an appropriately titled album for today.
first, today is a tremendous anniversary. today marks my 2 year anniversary on blogger. july 28th 2001 was when i made that leap from the old journal over to blogspot and haven't looked back since. i made the move because the old journal was irritating me and i needed something sufficient to post in from london as i was about to embark for the limey shores. it worked perfectly and i still love going back to re-read my posts from england. i invite you to check them out yourselves if you never have. just click on anywhere from "august 2001" through "december 2001" to the right under archives and you're bound to strike some entries.
so huzzah to blogspot. you are truly a great home for me.
my family, brynn and myself went to biltmore estate yesterday and had a really good time. the last time i was there i was a bit young to appreciate the historical side of the house, so this was much more interesting. many, many paintings by john singer sargeant (one of my favourite impressionists) throughout the house and tons of great (and funny) things. i made notes.
finally, as this was too much to pass up, and what i hope will be the kickoff to a fantastic next year of american politics..
