np: the cash brothers - brand new night
i'm living it up in evanston currently. i nearly burn up in the classroom on friday, hop a flight, and then find myself walking through snow flurries this afternoon. it was rather exhilirating given how i've been praying for winter for the past week. not praying for ice-induced power outages alá last year, mind you. just a reason to wear scarves. and my pea coat. and toboggans. ah, toboggans. and yes, i'm referring to knit caps. i am not yankee-dialect friendly on this here blog, i'll tell you that. unless you're canadian and call them toques. then i'm down with you.
until i get back on tuesday to continue my harranguing of you all (and believe me, i have a notebook page teeming with ideas right now. i was going to post earlier but became entangled in various and sundries), here's one of those aforementioned ideas to think upon.
is revenge a concept that can exist within a consistant ethical system? what about in very specific ones? christianity, for example? what about utilitarianism? discuss. use the comments. that's why they're there.
