np: the jayhawks - sound of lies
so, you may notice that things are changing here on the site. the layout has shifted just a touch, the links are re-organized and some have added, some have disappeared. i'm not done with the overhaul. i have plans for it yet. so, as lovely as that big, open space in the body is now, it won't stay quite that wide, unfortunately. so, if you come on and see things all mussed about, know it's just me. pay no attention to the quaker behind the curtain.
my wish list got a bit of cleaning over the holidays. i received the two cd sets mentioned in the previous post, the one volume collection of all of raymond chandler's short fiction, johnny cash's autobiography and the third season of the simpsons on dvd. that dvd is especially interesting for people as devoted and enamored of the show as i am. every episode has a commentary option manned with actors, directors, writers, animators and producers. it's really fascinating to hear some of the back stories and antecdotes that go along with this earlier season. especially when people go into the allusions/references that are either overtly or slyly made in each episode. if you watch the commentary track for the episode "homer defined," you even learn the origin of homer's "d'oh" expression. it's actually really interesting.
