np: pavement - brighten the corners

"so, uhm, has anyone seen yusuf today?"

yeah, that's right. yusuf islam, a.k.a. cat stevens, has been denied entry to the u.s. because he's on the goverment's terrorism watch list. the story being floated is that he has allegedly donated money to hamas, a militant palestinian group. similar charges were brought up in 2000 when islam was denied entry to israel. islam has always claimed that the donations were to humanitarian groups.

but really, i mean, is this who we fear now? the guy who scored harold and maude? if it weren't for the hamas story, i would've put ten bucks down in a heartbeat that it was solely because his last name is 'islam.' ooh, baby, it's a wild world these days.
