Friday, October 15, 2004 np: dizzee rascal - showtime things are going just swimmingly for my push for the triad health project fundraiser this holiday season. i have a meeting with their greensboro office on monday afternoon to talk details. for those of you not aware: through the j's indie/rock site, my radio show, this site and hopefully other djs on WQFS, i am looking to help raise money to donate to the triad health project, a fabulous HIV/AIDS outreach and education group here in the triad area of north carolina. this group does amazing work and needs support from the area. there's no better way for me to make my radio show truly a local experience than to work to help the people in our own area. all you have to do between now and december 31st is click on the amazon button here on this site or (eventually) at j's indie/rock blog. while you're at amazon, purchase something and a percentage of your purchase will come back to me. at the end of this quarter (dec. 31st) the total kickback will be tallied up and sent to me later in january. and every. red. cent. will go to the triad health project. sound like a great deal? it gets better. i, personally, will match your total amazon donations, penny for penny, up to one-hundred dollars. i can't promise much more since i'm a lowly school teacher, but if others would like to offer their fundraising match as well, bring it on! if, however, you prefer not to deal through amazon, i'll make direct donation information available as we get more into the holiday season. if you choose to make a direct donation, we'll have you guys add something like .01 to your total amount in order to make it known it came from this fundraising campaign. that way we can track the total given. sound like fun? i'm excited already. details will be forthcoming as i get the amazon links set up on the j's indie/rock blog and after my meeting with THP on monday afternoon. it's the end of the first nine weeks. everyone take a break and have a great weekend. posted by J.
