np: the decemberists - castaways and cutouts

i forgot i had this album laying around my room.

i'm about to flip out. in twenty minutes i have to go do 4th block coverage yet again. what happens is this: if a teacher is missing for some reason (had to leave early, is out sick, etc.) and we don't have a sub for them, the teachers who have planning periods are called in, usually for no more than 30 minutes at the time. well, for the 4th time in 6 days, i've been asked to do coverage in an absolute demon class out in a trailer. one of the (small) ways they pay us back for taking our planning time to cover other people's regular classes is by giving us 'swap time.' the idea is that you are given, minute for minute, the amount of time you've spent covering to take off on workdays. well, by the end of today i will have 5 hours and 30 minutes safely tucked away. in other words, i have lost the equivalent of nearly a full workday worth of work time. what is going on?
--
but that really doesn't matter. tomorrow is a workday. and we know why. election day. this is it. i'm so nervous i can't even tell you. i'm actually, genuinely, really, really excited. and incredibly anxious. as is a lot of the country, i'm sure.

i'm planning to go in and vote early in the morning, before i head to work. in the meanwhile, check out drfranklives' blog for a great roundup of north carolina's judicial candidates and the three amendments which are on the ballot. all of this is need to know information.

election watch party at my apartment tomorrow night, by the way. i hate to watch this on my own. scratch that. probably going to be at the green bean downtown with a bunch of fun, election watchin' folks. see you there, anyone?
