np: killing joke - "requiem"
sigh.
okay. you know, the panthers played their hearts out. and i appreciated that. i really think they should have won that game. but that's not a new feeling for fans of the cardiac cats.
however. it's not over. since nearly every other team in the wild card hunt lost yesterday (including a stunning win for the cardinals over the dwindling rams), the panthers are still in the driver's seat for the second wild card slot. it's theirs to lose. they have to beat tampa bay and new orleans. or else it's really over.
however, tom pointed me toward this wonderful article in go triad this past week about my favorite independent record store, gate city noise. andrew dudek, the man who owns and operates gate city noise, is an incredibly friendly and generous person. i really appreciate the work he does for this community. he is, in the truest sense, a business giving back to the community. he is also a business helping to foster and create community. this is why gate city noise deserves the support of every decent music loving person in greensboro. i'll put my money down at gate city any day of the week over a big-box retailer. that's just the way it ought to be.
