np: mclusky - "she will only bring you happiness"
i think i had digested this information a few weeks ago, but it just now hit me. it's a terrible, terrible thing that mclusky has called it quits. they were a brilliant band.
in greensboro-esque news, blog of death passes on the news of the passing of george wackenhut, founder of the wackenhut corporation, a business specializing in security. i'm sure many of you have seen their green, flashing lights zooming around the streets of friendly center on a normal basis. the name alone always caught my attention, and certainly the name "wackenhut" has become the source of many jokes in my household. it was interesting to learn of the man behind the name, albeit a little late. -- pride o' winston-salem, the finks, are playing a cd release show at the garage in winston-salem tonight for their new album more songs about robots and black things. it has to be a reference to the talking heads' second album, it just has to be. well, or any other album with a similar title. any suggestions?
