..and the war comes home. again.
tom fox, one of the christian peace group members who are currently held captive in iraq, is connected to my alma mater, guilford college. you can read about his work at guilford by clicking here.
for me it is a most personal connection due to the fact that tom fox is the father of friend, and fellow guilford education department graduate, kassie fox.
more so than anything, the failure of the bush administration to secure and unify iraq in the post-invasion time is proven by the utter suffering of those who really are, unlike them, simply trying to make things better. peace operatives, people striving truly to make this world better, are treated the same as the extremists who created this situation. those who are unwilling to love on both sides are causing the pain of those who feel there is something bigger than individuals.
it is a struggle to keep your faith when those who share your vision are punished for just that.
tom fox, his fellow captives, and everyone involved are in my thoughts, and indeed, my prayers. peace, friends.
